Bible Verses About Friendship

Fact: There are 49 verses that has a word "friend" in the Bible.

As soon as he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father's house anymore. Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul.
1 Samuel 18:1-3 New King James Version

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Proverbs 18:24 New International Version

Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man,or you will learn his ways and find a snare for yourself.
Proverbs 22:24-25 New American Standard

If you have find honey, eat just enough,
too much of it, and you will vomit.

Seldom set foot in your neighbor's house—
too much of you, and he will hate you.
Proverbs 25:16-17 New International Version

Better is open rebuke
Than love that is concealed.
Faithful are the wounds of a friend,
But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.
Proverbs 27:5-6 New American Standard

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls for he has no one to help him up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 New King James Version

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
John 15:12-15 New King James Version Bible

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Prov 17:17 New International Version

After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself.
1 Sam 18:1 New International Version

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Eccl 4:9-12 New International Version

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Rom 12:15 New King James Version

Faithful are the wounds of a friend,
But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Prov 27:6 New King James Version

A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Prov 18:24 New King James Version

A Friend

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advise, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

When We Two Parted

When we two parted
In silence and tears,
Half broken-hearted
To sever for years,
Pale grew thy cheek and cold,
Colder thy kiss;
Truly that hour foretold
Sorrow to this.

The dew of the morning
Sunk chill on my brow--
It felt like the warning
Of what I feel now.
Thy vows are all broken,
And light is thy fame;
I hear thy name spoken,
And share in its shame.

They name thee before me,
A knell to mine ear;
A shudder comes o'er me--
Why wert thou so dear?
They know not I knew thee,
Who knew thee too well:--
Long, long shall I rue thee,
Too deeply to tell.

In secret we met--
In silence I grieve
That thy heart could forget,
Thy spirit deceive.
If I should meet thee
After long years,
How should I greet thee?--
With silence and tears.

I Loved You

I loved you; even now I may confess,
Some embers of my love their fire retain;
But do not let it cause you more distress,
I do not want to sadden you again.
Hopeless and tonguetied, yet I loved you dearly
With pangs the jealous and the timid know;
So tenderly I loved you, so sincerely,
I pray God grant another love you so.

How to Tell if Your Best Friend Loves You

1. Look for the signs that your friend is crushing on you. Some of the signs include: your friend always being really quiet around you, or never able to look you in the eye for more than a few seconds. This may indicate that he or she is self-conscious, wondering whether you are noticing the difference in the way he or she relates to you lately.

2. Spend time with him or her. If you feel the same way, try and hang out together more often, so that you communicate your wish to be in his or her company as much as they wish to be in yours.

3. Ask some leading questions. Take your friend to a place where you have some privacy, and ask a harmless question such as "if you went to a dance, who would you ask to come with you?" or "who do you think is your best friend?" If you're lucky, the response will be, you. At that point, you can say something like, "Awww, I feel the same way about you," and offer a hug. If your friend welcomes your embrace, don't break it first - see if your friend wants to let the hug linger. If yes, try the next step. If no, skip ahead to "Just ask."

4. Share a meaningful touch. Remember - this is only if you have feelings for your friend that are outside the realm of friendship. Assuming your friend did not break the embrace, but seemed content to linger in your arms, then allow your hand to stroke and caress his or her back, and press your bodies a little closer together. If your friend welcomes this physical intimacy, then there's a very good chance you're about to share a first kiss.

5. Just ask. If the hug was inconclusive, and you still aren't sure, just ask. It sounds weird, but it really is best if you want to remain friends. Say something like, "I don't want to weird you out, but I've noticed things changing a little between us lately, and wondered if you could tell me why." If he or she tries to evade the question or change the subject, gently bring him or her back to it, and say, "The truth is, I was wondering if you were thinking of me in a different way, maybe more like you would think of someone to date. Is that possible?" If your friend says, "No way, what, are you crazy? We're friends, that's all!" Then let it go, saying, "Hey, it wouldn't be a problem, but I just wanted to know. It's cool, either way." But watch and wait. If your friend is scared to tell you, or is wrestling with his or her feelings, it may take some time for him or her to come clean about it to you. Be patient and compassionate, and don't pressure your friend.

6. Suggest that s/he think about you that way. If you have feelings outside of friendship, maybe you're going to have to make the first move. Don't make a big deal of it, but just suggest that your friend think about you in a more romantic way. Something like, "Have you ever thought about going out with... oh, I don't know... me?" Then smile and keep it light. Your friend might blow you off today, but take you up on it tomorrow.

Forever Friends

You're my friend and that is true,
but the gift was given from me to you.
we went thru moments that were good and bad,
even moments that were happy and sad.
you supported me when i was in tears,
we stuck together when we were in fear,

its really sad that it had to be this way,
but it has reached its very last day.
miles away cant keep us apart,
'cause you'll always be in my heart.

Make new friends
But keep the old
One is sliver and the other gold !

Parakeets With Lovebirds

DO NOT HOUSE WITH A LOVEBIRD. Lovebirds are VERY aggressive with other species of birds and are known to kill birds as big as macaws!. Not all birds will like all other birds (just like people), so maybe get a guarantee that you can exchange the bird for a different one if your budgies don't like it.

Budgies and Lovebirds

Budgies and lovebirds are probably the most widely kept small parrot-like birds in the world. In adult budgies the sexes are easy to determine. The male has a blue cere (the naked skin above the beak) while the female’s is brown. With young birds this is more difficult to determine, but both sexes make equally good pets – it doesn’t really matter. Lovebirds are, with a few exceptions, impossible to sex visually.

Through mutations and selective breeding literally hundreds of colour forms and combinations have been developed both in budgies and lovebirds. The choice and variety is truly unlimited.

Budgies and Lovebirds are intelligent and active birds. Never imprison them in tiny cages. Buy the biggest cage that you can afford, with 45cm long by 20cm wide and 30cm high being an absolute minimum size for one or two birds. Most cages come equipped with two food and water dishes, a removable floor for cleaning and two or three perches or swings.

The perches should preferably be natural, non-poisonous sticks or twigs, which vary in thickness to provide variety and exercise for your birds’ feet and beak. Twigs are easy and free to replace when chewed up by the birds and certainly do improve the quality of your little friend’s life. Plastic and metal perches are totally unsuitable. If your bird is to be housed alone without a friend, it is a very good idea to stock up on a selection of toys.

Before you buy a bird or birds you need to decide what you hope to get out of them, and much more important, what you are prepared to offer them in return. A single, tame and talking pet needs a lot of regular attention. A pair will never get as tame, but will keep each other company. If you are prepared to take on the responsibility and joy of a single pet, be certain to buy a newly fledged baby. An adult will never become truly tame.

Any bird that is tamed and allowed outside his cage needs to have his wings clipped. I find that removing ± one third of the flight feathers from both wings is about right. He should not be able to fly upwards. Taming consists simply of gently placing him on your hand. If he jumps off, gently retrieve him and place him back on your hand. Keep doing this until he stays there. Gentleness and patience are the key words here! To teach your bird to speak, you must keep him (or her) away from other birds, start young and be regular and patient with your lessons. 15 minutes of repetition, twice per day, every day will do it.

Should you, however, decide that you want the pleasure of birds without the responsibility of an individual pet, a pair will very happily live together in a cage in your living room. A multicoloured group of budgies or lovebirds (never both!) will also live very happily together in a garden aviary. Make sure that a part of the aviary provides shelter from the rain and also from cold winds. Provide twice as many nest boxes as there are pairs of birds in the aviary if you want peaceful breeding to take place. Provide dead trees in both the sheltered and open part of the aviary as perching. Allow 1m of aviary space per pair of birds.

:Feeding:
Seed: A good mixture including millets, oats, canary seed, and for lovebirds a little sunflower.
Soft food: Avi-plus parakeet, or a little moistened stale bread should be offered daily in clean dishes.
Fruit and green food: Greens and a slice of fresh fruit (not avocado) should be offered as often as possible.
Grit and minerals: Supply a mixture of crushed, untreated charcoal, oyster shell grit, river sand and a powdered mineral supplement.
Fresh water: Obviously clean, fresh water for drinking and bathing must be available at all times. Clean the dishes and supply fresh water daily.

:Breeding:
Should you wish to try your hand at breeding budgies or lovebirds, this can be done in the living room as easily as in an aviary or proper breeding set-up. Join a bird club and buy a good book to get proper, detailed information. In short, all that you have to do is supply a nest box (and nesting materials for lovebirds) in a large cage, offer a good, balanced diet, make sure that the birds are not unduly disturbed and they will get on with it themselves. And of course make sure that you have a true pair to start with. Most pairs are free breeders once they start.

About My Pets

I have Parakeets, Budgerigar, Zebra Fiches and Cockatiels.

:About Parakeets:

Parakeets are one of the most popular household pets in the world. They are very friendly, adore attention, and are easy to train. Since they are flock birds—and used to being part of a large bird family—they easily adapt to a household and think of their human owners as their big and wingless brothers.

The parakeets’ first home

The parakeets were endemic to Australia, and were called “budgerigars” by the aboriginal peoples. The word means “good bird” and “good food”—referring, unfortunately, to their taste. They were roasted and served as snacks.

However, European visitors took one look at the beautiful, colorful birds and realized the potential for selling them as exotic pets. They were first exported to England in 1840, sparking a “budgie boom” that lasted until the 1920’s. The pet stores would sometimes call the birds “parakeets” because they looked like little parrots. This name is sometimes shortened to “keets”.

Parakeet sales only slowed down during the first and second world wars, but picked up in the late 1940’s. Today, they are one of the most popular pets, with millions of households wrapped around their little feathers.

Parakeet-Colors

The scientific name of parakeets is Melopsittacus undulates, which translates to "song parrot with wavy lines"—the latter referring to the black markings on their wings and head.

The most common parakeet colors are yellow and green. The blue and white colors are recessive, and emerge only though careful breeding. Thanks to advances in genetics, breeders have also been able to create multi-colored parakeets, or those with light stripes (these are called cinnamons). You can also find parakeets with touches of gray.

There are also albino parakeets, which are yellow with white cheeks and pink eyes. However, these colors are genetic mutations, unpredictable, and considered “lucky accidents of breeding”.

Parakeet-Vocalizations

Since parakeets are flock birds, they’ve developed a wide range of chirps to communicate with each other. They may not be as loud as other parrots (notably the macaw and cockatiel) but they will call your attention.

A happy parakeet will make a “warbling”, purr-like sound, usually when they grooming themselves or crooning themselves to sleep. If you play music, they may join the chorus with a joyful “fweeping” sound. When they are excited, they will shout “Ack! Ack!” and jump up and down. (This can deteriorate to an “Ark! Ark!” when they are agitated.) Very high-pitched chirps are usually a sign of distress or fear.

Parakeets can also imitate the sound of car horns, ringing phones, or even the calls of other birds in the vicinity. They don’t always learn human words, though. You will be more successful if you teach a male and hand-feed it when it is young.

Parakeet-Lifespan

Like all pets, the parakeets’ longevity depends largely on the care they receive. Without proper nutrition, they may die of malnutrition before they are 5 years old. They are also at risk for tumors from the ages of 5 to 7.

But when parakeets pass the “lucky 7”—the year when their risk for tumors radically drops—owners can expect their birds to reach a ripe old age. Some of them can reach 15 years, or even 20.

:About Cockatiels:

The cockatiel is a gentle, intelligent and friendly bird—a temperament that has made it one of the most popular household pets.

The cockatiel originated from the wetlands and bush lands of Australia. In fact, its scientific name (nymphicus hollandicus) means “Goddess of New Holland”. However, all pet cockatiels are bred domestically, since Australia banned exportation of its native birds in 1894. It is sometimes called Weero or Quarrion.

Cockatiels-General Description

The cockatiel is the smallest member of the cacatuidae family. Like its fellow cockatoos, it has a vivid crest (which “fans out” whenever it’s excited) and facial feathers that actually cover part of its beak. However, it is much smaller than other cockatoos, and has the longest tail feathers—about half of its entire length!

The most common color for cockatiels is gray, with darker top feathers. Its wings are usually white, while its facial feathers are a bright, colorful orange. Some female cockatiels may have yellow spots, though these are usually half-hidden by its wings.

Cockatiels-Color Variations

There rarer, and more expensive colored cockatoos. For example, the Lutino is white, not gray, and has bright yellow facial feathers. Among males, the color extends to the head, and part of the chest. The females, on the other hand, have yellow tail markings.

The pearl cockatiel is grey with touches of white on its wings and back, though this will disappear among the males. There are also cockatiels with gray and cinnamon/rust red markings, or yellow and cinnamon (called fallow cockatiels).

Pied cockatiels are a smorgasbord of color, with irregular patches of anything from yellow, orange, brown, cinnamon, or gray. It’s difficult to tell whether a pied cockatiel is male or female, so owners will need to get a DNA test.

The very rare, and expensive, albino cockatiels are pure white (they are sometimes called white faced lutinos). They are always female, and have unique pink eyes, beaks, and toenails.

Other rare colored cockatiels: silver, or pastel with yellow face markings. Generally, female cockatiels tend to retain their color after molting. There have been some reports of olive cockatiels, but these have not been officially recognized by the Cockatiel Society.

Cockatiels-Lifespan

With the proper care, domesticated cockatiels can live as long as 20 years. The average lifespan, however, is 15 years. Some owners claim that their pets lived to be 30 years old, but these are rare and yet unproven.

Cockatiels-Personality

Cockatiels are calmer, and tend to be less aggressive than other birds. That’s why it’s difficult to mix them with other breeds like budgerigars, which may bully or even injure it.

Cockatiels can get very attached to owners and will call for them across the room. They may also get possessive, nipping strangers who try to come near their beloved “human”. That’s why it’s essential for the cockatiel to be familiarized with everyone in the household.

Being very sociable, cockatiels can’t be left alone for long periods of time (they can get depressed and stop eating or interacting). If you are away for most of the day, get two birds.

:About Zebra Finches:

There are numerous species of finch, but among the most popular as pets are the zebra finch (Poephila guttata) and the society (or Bengalese) finch (Lonchura domestica). These species are hardy and relatively easy to care for, so are an excellent choice for the new owner. Some of the other finch species are more challenging to care for and are best left for more experienced finch keepers. As an example, the Lady Gouldian finch is a strikingly beautiful, brightly colored finch, but are more difficult to care for and keep successfully than zebra finches.

Zebra finches are small birds, and are active and fun to watch, and quiet when it comes to vocalization (chirps and peeps that most people find easy to tolerate). Although small, they need a fairly large cage in order to have flight room (the length of the cage is more important than the height). All finches are social and should be kept in pairs - and a male and female pair will usually breed quite readily so you may want to consider keeping only females. Some people recommend keeping either in pairs or in groups larger than 6. Of course, if keeping more than a pair, you will need a larger cage such as a flight cage or aviary. While they are social with each other they are not birds that bond strongly to people (although they do become quite tame) and are good for watching but not for handling.

In general, finches have an expected lifespan of anywhere from 5-15 years. The wide range here can probably be attributed to species differences as well as an increased understanding of their husbandry, especially diet.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

How Little Boys Are Born

A little boy goes to his father and asks "Daddy, how was I born?" The father answers: "Well son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. Open a Word 2007 Document In An Earlier Version Of Word

Applies to: Microsoft Office Word 2007

To open Microsoft Office Word 2007 .docx or .docm files with Microsoft Office Word 2003, Word 2002, or Word 2000, you need to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for 2007 Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint File Formats and any necessary Office updates. By using the Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system, you can open, edit some items, and save Office Word 2007 documents in previous versions of Word.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Install the Compatibility Pack
Document element differences in previous versions

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Install the Compatibility Pack:-
================================
You can download the Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system from Microsoft Office Online.

With the Compatibility Pack, you can use some previous versions of Word to open Office Word 2007 documents that were saved in .docx and .docm formats. You cannot open Office Word 2007 template files that were saved in .dotx or .dotm format.

Document element differences in previous versions:-
===================================================
Although you can open Office Word 2007 files in previous versions of Word, you may not be able to change some items that were created by using the new or enhanced features in Office Word 2007. For example, equations will become images that cannot be changed. The following is a list of document elements that are changed when they are opened in a previous version of Word.

-:OR IF U DON'T WANT TO DOWNLOAD:-

The DOCX files, which are now the default file extension in Word 2007, are essentially a bunch of zipped XML documents - [you can even rename the extension from .docx to .zip and extract the contents using Winzip]

To convert .docx documents to .doc format, just download the free Microsoft Office compatibility Pack here. This will help you open, print edit, and save .docx files in Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003 [much like an advanced Word 2007 File Viewer].

If you are on Mac, you can get the Microsoft Office Open XML File Format Converter for Mac here - this converts .docx to rtf (rich text format) files which can be viewed in Office for Mac and other Mac word processors.

Alternatively, you can convert .docx to .doc or extract text from .docx files online using the free Zamzar.com or docxtodoc.com service. Unlike the Microsoft compatibility pack, these docx to doc conversion services do not require copy of Microsoft Office.

It is also possible to open and edit a .docx file in OpenOffice or StarOffice using the free Open XML Translator from SourceForge which converts .docx Word documents to .odf and vice versa.

The Silent Beast: The Sea | Janet George

It’s the devil
It’s the beast
But yet, some love the feast,
The feast of the silent beast.

For some it’s calm
For some it just knows how harm
But yet, some love it’s charm,
The charm of the silent beast.

For some it’s ruthless
Some it leaves faithless
But yet, the faithful keep their faith,
The faith in the silent beast.

Pressures Of Life | Janet George

It’s all so tiring,
Oh so tiring
Oh the so hard pressure.
It pulls at me
It tugs at me
Oh so tiring pressure.

I wish I could run,
I wish I could hide,
From the, oh so tiring pressure.
The pressure of life
Oh pressure of exams,
The pressure, of the painful spasms.

But then, isn’t this life?
So full of tiring pressure
Pressures of all kinds
Pressures of all types
Pressures of all styles
Meant for us to fight.
So lets all fight these oh so tiring pressures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Dreams Of A Man | Janet George

Dreams of fun, dreams a ton.
Don’t we all want some fun?
Fun when with friends
Fun when with family
Fun when a man wants to feel manly.

The words are true.
Oh, so true are the dreams of one,
Dreams a ton, to have some fun.
Fun when with friends
Fun when with family,
Fun when a man wants to feel manly.

To a woman this poetry may mean nothing
But a man who hasn’t had everything will better find it soothing,
The fun when with friends
The fun when with family
The fun when a man wants to feel manly...........

Forever | Janet George

I have stood on the bank of a lonely river, so long that it seems like forever.
It is this forever that will fill my empty pitcher, the empty pitcher of my life.

The wait for this forever makes me say,
I will stand here forever,
If forever is what it takes,
Because you are my forever
And forever always waits.

The empty pitcher has waited,
Waited for forever to be filled by the love of some hero
And so I say,
I will stand here forever,
On the banks of a lonely river
If forever is what it takes,
Because you are my forever
And forever always waits.

So my forever now that you are here
I want you forever,
Because you are my forever
And we have waited for each other
Forever . . . . . .
